From the start, BIO CHEMICAL LUXEMBOURG HOLDING S.A. has aimed its activities at the development and deployment of manufacturing of rubber process oils that offer characteristics of eco-friendly product of “green” chemistry, safe for health and environment, while maintaining the performance of a rubber process oils in tire, rubber, and rubber goods.

Starting from 2019 BCL Holding has become active in development of “green” eco-friendly rubber process oils from renewable vegetable source materials that are used as rubber mix plasticizers in tire, rubber and rubber goods making, resulting in a manufacturing technology of rubber process oils from sustainable bio sources.

By 2023 those rubber process oils were homologated by the leading global manufacturers of tires, rubber, and rubber goods in the EU, the US, and Asia-Pacific. This product meets fully the industry requirements for carcinogenic safety pertaining to tires, rubber and rubber goods, which is certified by the REACH registration, with high performance in the customer product, and, more importantly, is based on renewable vegetable source materials that come as side product, and is not used in food industry.

Rubber process oils will be supplied to the leading global Top-10 manufacturers of tires, rubber, and rubber goods in the EU, the US, and Asia-Pacific.

BCL Holding is the proprietor of invention patent and trademarks, namely, the Company holds exclusive rights in:

• invention patent “Masterbatch of silica and one or more process oils to produce rubber formulation for tires”, registered in Luxembourg;
• know-how (trade secret) of non-carcinogenic rubber process oils for tires, rubbers, and rubber components;
• registered trademarks.

Rubber process oils placed on the market have found a broad recognition of tire industry experts, manufacturers of tires, rubbers, and rubber parts; they also benefit the status high-quality, eco-friendly product of "green" chemistry, safe for people and environment, and perfectly fit for making high-performance tires, rubbers and rubber components.

The rights to use the registered trademarks are granted to rubber process oil makers located in Asia Pacific, and the Republic of Azerbaijan under license agreements.

BCL Holding uses its proprietary trademarks to designate and promote exclusively non-carcinogenic "green" aromatic rubber process oils for tires and rubbers as replacement to oils containing carcinogenic polycyclic hydrocarbons. Our rubber process oils meet the toughest requirements for carcinogenic safety and has been successfully used in tire.

At this moment, BCL Holding is launching a project to manufacture plant-based rubber process oils in the Republic of Moldova. The method developed by BCL Holding allows producing optimal rubber process oils from sustainable bio-based raw materials, which are by-products, not used for food purposes. All this makes such new product the closest meeting principles of sustainability and ESG.

Between 2010 and 2013, the Company took an active part in joint research with the BIU Institute – Grimmer Foundation (Germany), ICT Prague (Czech Republic), and Institute of Oil and Gas (Poland) to define carcinogenicity criteria of rubber process oils for tires, rubbers (oil), and rubber components, including studies of different types of oils produced with different technologies and to determine critical values for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). In order to promote and support global carcinogenic safety, the Company contributed to increase awareness about carcinogenic safety requirements for oils used in tires, rubbers, and rubber components through exhibitions, conferences and customer communication.

Based on studies of how the oil production technology impacts the amount of PAHs, BCL Holding has developed a know-how, which allowed introducing a manufacturing technology to make a rubber process oil with minimum PAHs content, with features of environmentally clean product of "green” chemistry, safe for
human and environment, while maintaining a high performance

of rubber process oil for tires, rubbers, and rubber components. Rubber process oils issued from manufacturing sites using this know-how in Asia Pacific, and other regions of the world, are recognized as carcinogen-free oils, which is confirmed by REACH registration, and are commercially supplied to the TOP-10 global manufacturers of tires, rubbers, and rubber components.
